Dr. Michael T. Shaw, President & co-Founder
As President and cofounder of SilkWeb Consulting & Development, Dr. Shaw has extensive knowledge of e-learning technologies and applies years of experience and research to each client's projects. He has developed numerous leadership and management oriented workshops for organizations of all types throughout his career; including leadership curriculum and program development for the School of Advanced Studies at University of Phoenix. Dr. Shaw's research focuses on employee retention, online faculty quality, employee turnover (particularly in call centers), and values in the workplace. Dr. Shaw is a driving force in making SilkWeb a leader in higher education and technology consultancy. Dr. Shaw oversees all of SilkWeb's consulting activities and projects in higher education.
Laurel Silk, M.A.Ed., Vice President & co-Founder
Laurel is a skilled educator who has managed e-learning initiatives at three leading universities in Arizona, created a virtual doctoral library for research students, and designed and implemented a web-based Supervisor Development Program for new managers at a large corporation. Laurel has a Master of Arts in Education in Adult Education and Educational Technology from University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Arizona State University. Laurel is responsible for the management of custom e-learning program development and writing services at SilkWeb.
